Pictures from My Life

I like to tell stories that include pictures and I like the idea of saving precious moments for the future. However, I often find that the distractions of capture diminish the moment and just leave the camera in the bag. However, when I don't do that, I get pictures and I enjoy telling stories around them. Here are some of those pictures and stories. Enjoy.

Photographs from Bloomsday 2004 in Dublin, a celebration of the 100th anniversary of Leopold Bloom's journey through Dublin as chronicled in James Joyce's Ulysses. These pictures were all taken during the sausage breakfast along a blocked-off O'Connell Street, which I attended together with Erin Pataaya from Media Lab Europe and a family of friends from Milltown Quaker Meeting.
Photographs from a trip to Culebra (one of the "Spanish Virgin Islands" off of the east coast of Puerto Rico) in February of 2004 with a group of friends (mostly Quakers). For me, the trip was my first experience of consistently diving with a camera. Unfortunately, 80% of the pictures were lost in a Powerbook disk crash, but these remained, and some are pretty cool. The other divers are my wife, Margaret, and our friend Judy Williams.
